Score Predictions Rules

Score Predictions Rules

Everything you need to know before you make your first prediction.

1. How It Works

Each gameweek, predict the exact final score for a fixture — how many goals each team will score. Depending on how the competition is set up, you'll either need to predict every fixture in the gameweek, or you can choose up to a set maximum of fixtures yourself.

The competition also runs for a set length — either a fixed number of gameweeks, or for the rest of the season — decided by whoever created it.

2. Points & Scoring

Each fixture you predict is scored one of three ways, once the match finishes:

  • Exact score — you predicted the final score precisely. Worth the most points (5 by default).
  • Correct result only — your score was wrong, but you still called the right outcome (home win, draw, or away win). Worth fewer points (2 by default).
  • Incorrect — neither the score nor the result matched. Worth nothing.

These two point values are set by your competition admin and can be different from the defaults above — check your competition's own settings page for its exact numbers. Only one of the two ever applies per fixture; an exact score doesn't earn both amounts.

3. Gameweek Bonuses & Penalty

On top of per-fixture points, some competitions turn on gameweek-wide bonuses and a penalty — check your competition's settings to see which apply and for how many points:

  • Perfect scores bonus — every fixture you predicted that gameweek was an exact score.
  • Perfect results bonus — every fixture you predicted had at least the correct result, even if not every score was exact.
  • Zero correct penalty — nothing you predicted that gameweek was even the correct result.

Only one of these ever applies per player per gameweek — a perfect-scores week doesn't also collect the perfect-results bonus on top. None are guaranteed to be enabled; some competitions run with none of them turned on.

4. Prediction Deadlines

Predictions lock 30 minutes before the first kickoff of the round. Once the earliest fixture in a gameweek is 30 minutes away, every prediction for that round is final for every player, and you can no longer change or remove your selections.

5. Winning

Score Predictions runs as a leaderboard for the competition's set length. Your total is the sum of every point scored across every gameweek. Whoever has the highest total once the competition ends wins.

6. Settings Your Competition Admin Controls

Every Score Predictions competition is configured individually by whoever creates it. Before you join, check the competition's own settings for:

  • Points awarded for an exact score versus a correct result only
  • Whether the gameweek bonuses/penalty are enabled, and their point values
  • Entry fee and prize pool (or whether it's free to play)
  • Whether the competition is public or invite-only, and whether it needs a password

Settings changes apply from the next ungraded round onward — they don't retroactively change points you've already scored. The fixtures-per-gameweek rule and competition length are set once at creation and can't be changed afterward.

7. What a Competition Admin Can Do

The person who created your competition (its admin/owner) can:

  • Rename the competition and toggle whether it's publicly listed
  • Send email invites, and share the invite code or invite link
  • Set the exact-score and correct-result point values, and the gameweek bonus/penalty settings
  • Mark a player's entry as paid or unpaid, for their own bookkeeping
  • Remove a player from the competition
  • View the leaderboard and every player's prediction history

8. What a Competition Admin Cannot Do

To keep every competition fair, a competition admin does not have the ability to:

  • See what any other player has predicted before that round locks
  • Change, remove, or place a prediction on behalf of another player
  • Change the final score used for grading — that data comes from the league feed

Platform staff can intervene in exceptional cases — for example correcting a fixture data error — but this is a platform-level safeguard, not something available to competition admins themselves.

9. Joining a Competition

You can join a competition using its invite code, invite link, or by finding it in the public listings — right up until the deadline for its first round passes. Once that deadline has gone, the competition is closed to new entrants.

Rules apply to Score Predictions competitions. See your competition's own settings page for its specific configuration.
