NFL 2020 Teams Ranked

The most recent offseason has seen an abundance of big player moves. We rank and review every team so you know what to expect for the new season.

Let us know what you think in the comments.

1. Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City chiefsPatrick Mahomes signed a record-breaking 10-year deal with the Chiefs worth up to $503 million dollars showing how confident the team is he can continue to put up big numbers. Running Back Damien Williams has opted out but adding LSU product Clyde Edwards-Helaire has probably improved this already prolific offense. Star guard Laurent Duvernay-Tardiff opted out but was promptly replaced with vetern Kelechi Osemele. They remain the team to beat this year.

2020 Projected Record: 15-1

2019 Record: 12-4

2. Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore RavensThe Ravens ended last year rather disappointingly. They have made some smart moves on the defensive side to help bolster up their run defense adding LB Patrick Queen late in the first round to further improve an already formidable defense. They have no players of note choosing to opt out and have probably the most exhilarating offense in the league. They come a close second here.

2020 Projected Record: 14-2

2019 Record: 14-2

3. New Orleans Saints

Ne wOrleans SaintsDrew Brees signed a two-year contract worth $50M. Having only played 11 games last year he still managed 2,979 yards and 27 touchdowns. They made some great additions in the offseason adding Emmanuel Sanders, retaining OT Andrus Peat, veteran safeties Malcolm Jenkins and D.J. Swearinger. They also added some highly underrated players in the draft Zack Baun and Adam Trautman. Fully healthy they could go all the way.

2020 Projected Record: 14-2

2019 Record: 13-3

4. San Francisco 49ers

San Francisco 49ersThe Niners were probably the biggest shock of the 2019 season cruising the NFC North and all the way to the Superbowl. They drafted well picking up Brandon Aiyuk to replace Emmanuel Sanders and Javon Kinlaw to replace DeForest Buckner. They have one of the best defenses in the league and adding LT Trent Williams should be enough to see them go far this year again.

2020 Projected Record: 13-3

2019 Record: 13-3

5. Seattle Seahawks

Seattly SeahawksSeattle had a busy offseason - Jadeveon Clowney and the Seahawks parted ways, they also traded for Jamal Adams from the Jets but for a heavy price (2021 and 2022 first-round picks, 2021 third-round pick and S Bradley McDougald). They have one of the best QBs in the NFL in Russell Wilson and an offense full of raw talent although not adding too much (Greg Olsen count?) to it this year they are strong enough to remain in the mix.

2020 Projected Record: 12-4

2019 Record: 11-5

6. Dallas Cowboys

Dallas CowboysThe Cowboys resigned Amari Cooper adding a potential superstar WR in Ceedee Lamb. They finally moved on from HC Jason Garrett bringing in Mike McCarthy who should be able to get things going with the amount of talent they have on the roster. We see big improvements coming here.

2020 Projected Record: 11-5

2019 Record: 8-8

7. Buffalo Bills

Buffalo BillsThe Bills have been improving year on year and this was no exception. They added a number of interesting pieces on defense and trading a 2020 first-round pick for Stefon Diggs does give an insight into their intentions. They have an easier run than the Patriots and we see them taking the division this year.

2020 Projected Record: 11-5

2019 Record: 10-6

8. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay BuccaneersBucs had arguably the biggest move in the league this offseason with the addition of Tom Brady, then adding Rob Gronkowski paves the way for the Bucs to finally live up to their potential. With one of the best WR duos in the league in Mike Evans and Chris Godwin we expect big things.

2020 Projected Record: 10-6

2019 Record: 7-9

9. Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia EaglesThe Eagles pass catchers were decimated last year so they wisely chose to add to their WR core adding a big playmaker in Jalen Reagor with the 21st overall pick in the draft. Carson Wentz and Zach Ertz can hopefully get back to what they do best with a few more options available. Adding CB Darius Slay helps plug one of their other big needs, they should be a much bigger force this year.

2020 Projected Record: 10-6

2019 Record: 9-7

10. Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis ColtsLosing close games they could have won cost the Colts their season last year. They turn to veteran Philip Rivers to help drive home some wins. They added DeForest Buckne in the first round if the draft along with Michael Pittman and Jonathan Taylor on offense this team is build to win. We see them taking the AFC South how far they go after that is debatable

2020 Projected Record: 10-6

2019 Record: 7-9

11. Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota VikingsThe Vikings lost a lot of key players this year but also added a number of studs in the draft. LSU wideout Justin Jefferson came in to replace Stefon Diggs and adding Jeff Gladney to what was a struggling secondary. It will be tough to see how this team performs with so many players joining and departing but they have the talent to make the playoffs.

2020 Projected Record: 9-7

2019 Record: 10-6

12. Tennessee Titans

Tennesse TitansThe team has gone all in on Ryan Tannehill and slapped a franchise tag on Derrick Henry who they will lean heavily on again this year. It’s pretty much the same team as last year and we see them achieving about the same also.

2020 Projected Record: 9-7

2019 Record: 9-7

13. New England Patriots

New England PatriotsThe Patriots are suffering with a league-high eight opt-outs. The introduction of Cam Newton has brought some much needed excitement to the offense. The defense should still be elite even though they lost a few key pieces. They will still be in contention but not the Patriots of old.

2020 Projected Record: 9-7

2019 Record: 12-4

14. Green Bay Packers

Green Bay PackersThe Packers offseason was a car crash, trading up in the draft for QB Jordan Love and taking RB A.J. Dillon when they were in dire need of a WR. They did add WR Devin Funchess who then opted out of the season. They really overachieved last year.

2020 Projected Record: 8-8

2019 Record: 13-3

15. Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh SteelersThe Steelers were one of three teams with no players opting out this year and will be largely unchanged from last year. They will have Ben Roethlisberger at the helm for what could be his last year, literally the end of an era. Will he get his 3rd Superbowl ring with his final run? Doubtful.

2020 Projected Record: 8-8

2019 Record: 8-8

16. Cleveland Browns

Cleveland BrownsThis is purely based on the Browns on paper, they have a knack for not being the team they should be though. They had a strong draft and signed Austin Hooper to a big contract. The team is solid we just need to see them perform to their ability. If they can do that, they will go far. Don’t hold your breath.

2020 Projected Record: 8-8

2019 Record: 6-10

17. Houston Texans

Houton TexansTexans took a big risk sending DeAndre Hopkins to Arizona in exchange for David Johnson and draft picks (remember David Johnson lost his job to Kenyan Drake last season). Defensively they will be as tough as usual but offensively they will be relying heavily on Deshaun Watson to win them games. They don’t have enough to make the superbowl never mind win it.

2020 Projected Record: 8-8

2019 Record: 10-6

18. Atlanta Falcons

Atlanta FalconsThe Falcons lost Austin Hooper but did manage to bring in Hayden Hurst from the Ravens to replace him. If Todd Gurley remains healthy this could be a great season for the Falcons, its unfortunately unlikely though. They will have a similar outing to last year.

2020 Projected Record: 8-8

2019 Record: 7-9

19. Los Angeles Rams

LA RamsPicking up RB Cam Akers as their first pick even though there were better players still on the board shows the team feel he can help fill the void after Todd Gurley departed this offseason. It’s hard to believe this team was in a super bowl just 18 months ago. Sean McVay will need his team to play out of their skins to get there again this year.

2020 Projected Record: 7-9

2019 Record: 9-7

20. Arizona Cardinals

Arizona CardinalsThe team will be hoping Kyler Murray will live up to the hype in his second season, the addition of superstar WR DeAndre Hopkins should help him reach his potential. The defense has also improved immensely over the offseason. Expect improved performances all round.

2020 Projected Record: 7-9

2019 Record: 5-10-1

21. Los Angeles Chargers

LA ChargersThe Chargers have one of the best defenses in the league. The offense has talent but a lot of questions surrounding the QB position. Tyrod Taylor is not someone who instils confidence and with Justin Herbert needing time to learn the ropes it could be a tough ride.

2020 Projected Record: 7-9

2019 Record: 5-11

22. Denver Broncos

Denver BroncosBroncos had a very strong offseason adding both Melvin Gordon and Jurell Casey in free agency and taking Alabama WR Jerry Jeudy and Penn State WR KJ Hamler in the draft. Drew Lock should be happy he now has some much needed weapons added to the offense.

2020 Projected Record: 6-10

2019 Record: 7-9

23. Chicago Bears

Chicago BearsAnything is an upgrade on Mitchell Trubisky so hopefully they stick with Nick Foles. Their defense is very strong but the questions on their offense are big enough to prevent them going far.

2020 Projected Record: 6-10

2019 Record: 8-8

24. Las Vegas Raiders

Las Vegas RaidersDerek Carr recently hasn’t really had competition for the starting job which is probably a bad thing, however the addition of Marcus Mariota may help lift the standard. They added WR Henry Ruggs in the first round and a few other solid pieces in the draft.

2020 Projected Record: 6-10

2019 Record: 7-9

25. Miami Dolphins

Miani DolphinsSo much excitement in Miami and rightly so. The defense is hugely improved with Kyle Van Noy, Shaq Lawson, Emmanuel Ogbah and Byron Jones joining the roster. Tua Tagoivaloa is the real exciting piece though and if he lives up to the hype Miami could be a team to be reckoned with. Watch this space, Miami could be making a comeback.

2020 Projected Record: 5-11

2019 Record: 5-11

26. New York Jets

New York JetsThis is make or break season for Sam Darnold and for Jets fans hopefully Adam Gase. They traded their best player Jamal Adams to the Seahawks and got a great price for him but that won’t help them this year. They are a team who constantly seem to be in need of building hopefully these future picks will get them there.

2020 Projected Record: 5-11

2019 Record: 7-9

27. Detroit Lions

Detroit LionsAlthough Detroit had a solid draft they still have a long ways to go. They have been very patient with Matt Patricia but another lacklustre performance this year could see the end to his tenure. They added Georgia RB D’Andre Swift after he fell to the second round even though they had big needs elsewhere in the team.

2020 Projected Record: 5-11

2019 Record: 3-12-1

28. Carolina Panthers

Carolina PanthersPanthers wisely focused on defense in the draft at the expense of the offense. The team is rebuilding and it will take time to get back to the force they once were. They will need to score points this year and the offense has loads of talent to do so but we have doubts over the QB situation. Has Teddy been on the bench for too long?

2020 Projected Record: 4-12

2019 Record: 5-11

29. New York Giants

New York GiantsThe offense has a decent amount of talent for Daniel Jones to work with. They had a smart draft adding to the O-Line with Andrew Thomas. They are trending in the right direction but still have a way to go.

2020 Projected Record: 4-12

2019 Record: 4-12

30. Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinatti BengalsJoe Burrow has brought hope to a long suffering franchise. They will need him to hit the ground running as they have probably one of the worst defenses in the league. Expectations for this season should be low but the future looks bright.

2020 Projected Record: 3-13

2019 Record: 2-14

31. Jacksonville Jaguars

Jacksonville JaguarsThe Jags have the worst odds on nearly all betting sites to win the Super Bowl but Gardner Minshew has some magic about him that can’t be explained. That has to count for something. The offense is mediocre and they traded away a lot of their defense. Safe to say this team will be bad.

2020 Projected Record: 3-13

2019 Record: 6-10

32. Washington Football Team

Washington Football TeamWashington had a fairly meagre offseason. They look to Dwayne Haskins and hope he can deliver. The potential return of Alex Smith is probably the only thing to look forward to from a Washington perspective. HC Ron Rivera recently announced he was diagnosed with squamous cell cancer which he has said is very treatable; we wish him a quick and full recovery. It’s not going to be a good season for the recently renamed Washington Football Team.

2020 Projected Record: 2-14

2019 Record: 3-13
